According to ABC News CCM coach Graham Arnold is not short of choices and looking at ASA stars to replace the departing Matt Simon , starting with Sunday's away clash with Sydney FC. Adam Kwasnik and Daniel McBreen both have lots of experience playing up front, while youth league players Mitchell Duke and Kwabena Appiah Kubi are highly regarded.

Academy Superstar Kwabena Appiah signs a 1 year deal with Central Coast Mariners. The speedy striker has been with the academy for six seasons. Kwabena told ASA website that he was looking forward to playing A-League this season. The highly regarded striker said he was excited about the prospects of playing against some of the biggest names in Australia.

Farres Training the House Down

Reports out of Manchester suggests Academy star Farres Aoun has been ticking all the right boxes. Farres who is currently with the Manchester City shadow squad and also playing and studying at the Salford college, Farres has been training two times a day 5 days a week under the watchful eye of Jimmy Petruzzi. The peak performance coach has been working with Aoun and has been very impressed with this development.

Manchester City Coaching staff have praised the Australasian Soccer Academy for producing good players.

Having already scouted Alusine Fofanah, Man City had the chance to look at the other academy stars.

Academy Defeats Blackpool 1-0

ASA defeated Blackpool 1 zero in a physical encounter. Salman Hassani was the star,bagging the only goal in the match from a set piece.

Jawad Qasimi whipped in a wicked ball for Hasani who headed home. ASA played some excellent football.

Julian Signs His First Professional Deal

ASA Star Julian Aguirre has signed a 1 year deal with S-League club Gombak United. The 20 year old midfielder was overwhelmed with his new club.

Julian wanted to thank ASA and Tony Basha for all his work, Tony put me through some vigorous training sessions at the academy. Without Tony's training and guidance i would never have had this opportunity to apply my football skills and ability in the professional S-League.

Julian will follow in the same footsteps as head coach Tony Basha who played for the same club. Julian played for Rydalmere FC in the 2011 season and also trained at the academy fulltime.

Academy stalwart Leonard Fitzgerald said Julian fully deserved to be recognised for all his hard work. Julian showed great commitment and a highly professional attitude under the watchful guidance of Tony Basha in preparation for his foray into the S-League.

The academy is a breeding ground for talented players that need an opportunity. It really shows the strength of the academy and the resources the academy has.

It's reported that Julian will be earning $6000 a month.

Julian scored his first goal against malaysian outfit Johor FC.
